I apologize if you landed on this site while looking for someone to redo your backyard. After using a website template, I tried to find a way to change the tab title from "Landscape Architect" to "Creative Portfolio" to no avail. While I have mowed some lawns (often with creative patterns), I felt pictures and descriptions would not fit the purposes of this portfolio.

If you are a talent agent or work at a publishing company and have a second to spare on your search for the perfect landscape architect, please read on.

Hello, friends, family, peers in the Sweetland Minor, potential employers, and movie studios looking for scripts to purchase. Welcome to my portfolio, a collection of creative and academic work from my time at the University of Michigan.

I have always seen myself as a writer and creator. As an eight year old, my cousin and I wrote a three page newspaper, printed out 30 copies, and sold them around the neighborhood for a quarter. Unfortunately, we violated the parameters of where we could sell the paper, and our parents took our earnings as punishment. In that moment, all my business instincts were stamped out. Ten years later, while deciding on a major at Michigan, I didn't even consider applying to the Ross School of Business, and instead of a wealthy banker funding their retirement, my parents ended up with a film major (with a Writing Minor!).

Unfortunately, that was the last time I was paid for my writing. My award-winning high school journalism and my traffic driving posts on sports blogs were only lines on my resume. For my academic papers, I was actually paying someone else for the priviledge of writing.

This is why the required portfolio for the Sweetland Minor in Writing is a godsend. We are graded on how this site reflects our evoution as a writer, and I want to demonstrate my growth as a writer and creative with some of these works.

So consider this all a quest to get back to a time when I was paid for my creative work. Click the link below to find out more about me, and continue clicking through to explore my essays, scripts, and videos. Or skip the rest of the site and jump straight to the paper I created as a kid.
